Cinnamon is a one of the oldest and most popular household spices used in many homes today. The spice is found in forms such as powdered, sticks and leaves. It is a spice that my grandmother, mother, aunts and now I use for a variety of recipes.

Although cinnamon is well known and used as a spice it possesses a host of health benefits that many might be unaware of. Drinking it as tea is a great aid for various stomachs discomfort. I use cinnamon to treat nausea, vomiting, cold, diarrhea and digestive problems. I have also known people to use cinnamon to help regulate their blood sugar.

Cinnamon is so versatile and I incorporate it in an array of dishes, baked good or drinks. It is a spice that is commonly used around the holiday season due to its warm yet spicy smell. Next time your feeling cold, brew a cup of cinnamon tea with a teaspoon of honey or sweetener of choice and it will make you warm all over; inside and out.
